Brooksian Core Value (BCV) Award

The Brooksian Core Value (BCV) Award aims to recognise students who exemplify school values and demonstrate outstanding persona qualities. It also aims to encourage and motivate students to embrace and exemplify our school G.I.F.T.E.D. values. The nominees of this school-based character award will be used for the Edusave Character Award (ECHA).
Eligibility Criteria for Brooksian Core Value Award
(a) Students must, on a consistent basis, demonstrate good character and values, and
(b) Students must have obtained a Conduct Grade of at least a ‘Very Good’ in Semester 1
Edusave Character Award (ECHA)
The Edusave Character Award (ECHA) was introduced in 2012 to enable schools to recognise students who demonstrate exemplary character and outstanding personal qualities through their behaviour and actions.
Eligibility Criteria for ECHA
(a) Students must be Singaporeans and
(b) Students must, on a consistent basis, demonstrate good character and
values. In particular, students may be identified for demonstrating
the following types of qualities:
(i) School values. Graciousness, Integrity,
Fortitude, Teamwork, Empathy, Discipline
(ii) A high level of civic responsibility.
These would be students who are concerned about issues in the community
or issues faced by others, initiating action to address these issues to
improve the lives of others, and being committed to make a positive difference
(iii) Qualities associated with resilience. These
would be students who have persevered despite facing difficult circumstances
and managed to overcome the odds
The ECHA maximum quota for each school will be capped at 2% of the enrolment of Singaporean students. This is approximately 20 awardees for the ECHA for Northbrooks Secondary School.
Award Quantum: $500 per Awardee
Nomination
The nomination period starts from 18 July 2025 to 25 July 2025. Students can be nominated by staff, parents, and alumni using the prescribed nomination form which can be found here
Shortlisting and Selection
Nominations will be shortlisted by a panel comprising school staff representatives,
led by Key Personnel.
Endorsement
The endorsement of the awardees will be conducted by a panel comprising
the school leaders and other key stakeholders.
The selected candidates will be informed by the school.
